Overview
Sections are the top-level building blocks of your store's pages. Each section is a full-width container that holds content blocks. In the Shopify theme editor, you add sections to your pages and then fill them with blocks.
Section Settings
Most sections in Ronin end with the same three groups of settings: General settings (or Advanced), Appearance, and Padding. They control how wide the section is, what sits behind its content, and how much space it takes above and below. You find them at the bottom of the section's settings panel in the theme editor, after the settings that are specific to that section.
Section Presets
Ronin includes a generic Section builder that accepts any theme block and app block. It is the blank canvas of the theme: you drop in groups, layouts, text, images, buttons, and any other theme block to build a layout that none of the ready-made sections cover.
Page Templates
Ronin ships 20 page templates (JSON) plus a gift card template. A template defines which sections a page starts with and in what order. You can edit any template in the theme editor, and you can create further variants of your own from the same starting points.
Header & Footer
These sections make up the global navigation, branding, and utility areas of your store. Most of them live in section groups rather than on individual pages, so they appear on every page once you configure them. Ronin ships 3 header styles, 4 mega menus, and 3 footer styles, so you can pick the combination that fits your brand.
Hero Sections
Hero sections are full-width, high-impact openers designed for the top of your pages. Ronin includes 7 hero sections: five home page openers, each with its own kind of motion, plus lightweight headers for the About page and the blog.
Collection Sections
Collection sections help visitors browse your catalog by collection, from the banner at the top of a collection page to carousels, lists, and scroll-driven showcases on the home page. Ronin includes 4 collection sections. Each also has the universal width, color scheme, background, and padding controls described in Section Settings.
Product Sections
Product sections cover the main product page, shoppable grids and carousels, video-led product showcases, bundles, and the overlays that let customers buy from anywhere in the store. Ronin includes 13 product sections: the main product section, nine sections you can add to any page, and three overlay sections that live in the Overlay section group.
Content Sections
Content sections carry the informational parts of your store: values, promises, FAQs, blog teasers, the contact page, and search helpers. Ronin includes 7 content sections. Every one of them shares the universal width, color scheme, background, and padding controls described in Section Settings, so this page only lists what is specific to each section.
Editorial Sections
Editorial sections tell your brand story. They lean on large type, pinned statements, and scroll-driven motion rather than product grids, so they suit About pages, campaign landing pages, and the narrative parts of a home page. Ronin includes 9 editorial sections. All of them share the universal width, color scheme, background, and padding controls described in Section Settings.
Media & Interactive Sections
Media and interactive sections turn imagery, video, and product details into scroll-driven or clickable experiences. Ronin includes 8 media and interactive sections, ranging from spotlight video reveals and shoppable hotspot images to 3D lookbooks, horizontal scroll stories, and a social mosaic. Each one shares the universal section settings for width, background, and padding.
Testimonial Sections
Testimonial sections add social proof from customers and the press. Ronin includes 3 testimonial sections, covering a parallax quote stack, a 3D fly-through of reviews, and a scrolling press marquee. Each one shares the universal section settings for width, background, and padding.
Popup Sections
Popup sections show overlay content on top of the page. Ronin includes 4 popup sections. They live in the Popup section group, which appears on every page, instead of in the page's own section list. Open Online Store > Themes > Customize, find the Popup group in the sidebar, and enable the popup you want. All four ship disabled by default.
