Using Theme Presets
Mind ships with 3 style presets: complete store designs with their own color schemes, typography and homepage layout. You pick one when you add the theme, then customize it to match your brand.
Available presets
Mind (default)
guide-presets-1.webp
The default preset is a calm, airy design for wellness businesses, built around the Hero carousel section.
- Style: Soft and welcoming. White backgrounds with warm cream layers and near-black text, a teal primary, a coral tertiary accent and deep green buttons, plus a dark scheme for contrast sections. Buttons and badges are fully rounded.
- Typography: Poppins for body text and subheadings, Libre Baskerville (a classic serif) for headings.
- Best for: Yoga and wellness studios, coaches, classes, retreats and other businesses that sell sessions and experiences alongside a few products.
- Homepage: Hero carousel, Image with text, Product scroll horizontal, Image with text feature, Video, Stacked cards slider, Collections, Combo bundle, Banner slideshow, Testimonial with image, Call to action.
Fluxen
guide-presets-2.webp
A dark, cinematic preset for service businesses that sell expertise first and products second.
- Style: Bold and high-contrast. Every homepage section uses the dark scheme: black backgrounds, white text, a deep red primary and a warm cream secondary. Buttons and badges are fully rounded.
- Typography: Instrument Sans for body text and subheadings, Inter for headings.
- Best for: Technology consultancies, agencies, digital strategists and training companies that sell consulting packages, workshops, events and memberships.
- Homepage: the same section layout as the Mind preset (Hero carousel through Call to action), restyled in the dark scheme with service-led content.
Terrora
guide-presets-3.webp
A clean, architectural preset with square corners and a project-led homepage.
- Style: Crisp and structured. White backgrounds with near-black text, a teal primary, a soft sage layer color and a dark scheme for contrast sections. The Corner style is set to None, so cards, images and buttons have square corners.
- Typography: Poppins for body text and subheadings, Tenor Sans for headings.
- Best for: Interior designers, architects, renovation and fit-out studios, and furniture or home decor stores.
- Homepage: Hero banner headline, Image parallax with text, Products scroll vertical, Stacked cards slider, Collections, Collection showcase tabs, Banner slideshow, Step by step, Video, Team spotlight, Stacked cards slider, Featured collection, Testimonial with image, Call to action.
Each preset also installs its own set of page templates. Fluxen adds extra homepage, about and pricing layouts, and Terrora adds project pages. The default Mind preset ships four alternate homepage templates that you can switch to at any time. See Change homepage preset.
How to apply a preset
You choose a preset when you add Mind to your store. Each preset installs as its own copy of the theme.
- On your store's Shopify admin page, from the left-side menu, select Sales channels > Online store > Themes.
- In the Theme library section, select Add theme > Visit Theme Store and search for Mind.
- On the Mind listing page, open the style selector and pick Mind, Fluxen or Terrora. The preview updates to show that preset.
- Select Try theme (or Add theme if you already own Mind). The preset is added to your Theme library.
- In the Theme library, select Customize next to the new copy to open the Theme editor and start editing.
- When you are happy with it, select Publish to make it your live theme.
To switch to a different preset later, repeat the steps above to add another copy of Mind with the preset you want, then move your content and settings across before publishing.
Adding a preset creates a fresh copy of the theme; it does not carry over your sections, images or theme settings. Always duplicate your current theme (... > Duplicate in the Theme library) before you change presets so you have a backup to copy from.
Customizing a preset
Presets are starting points, not restrictions. After applying one you can:
- Change colors: go to Theme settings > Colors to edit any color scheme.
- Change fonts: go to Theme settings > Typography to pick the Body, Sub heading and Heading fonts and adjust the text presets.
- Change the shape: go to Theme settings > Corner radius and set Corner style, or adjust the corner radius of buttons, badges, swatches and variant pickers in their own groups.
- Modify sections: add, remove or rearrange sections on any page. See the section overview.
- Swap images: replace preset images with your own photography.
- Adjust global styles: buttons, badges, product cards, cart and animation all live in Theme settings.
All three presets use the same three color schemes: Scheme 1 (light), Scheme 2 (dark) and Scheme 3 (light, with its own button colors). Keep that structure when you edit colors so the Dark/Light mode mapping keeps working.
